Heating

  • The heating is on a timer to keep things cosy.

  • More detailed instructions are in the welcome folder. Please do turn them off if you’re going out for a long time. It only takes a couple of minutes to get the place warmed up again.

Bins & Recycling

  • Bins are provided in the kitchen. If these are full, the main bins are in the courtyard between the house and Shippon: Please separate recycling (paper, cardboard, plastic, glass all go together), and general waste.

  • Please take excess recycling home if you can, as local collections are very limited.

Country Living

  • If you have windows open and lights on at night, you’ll get insects inside!

  • Please don’t leave food out – it attracts pests.

Gardens

  • There’s a vegetable garden behind The Shippon. Please help yourself to any of our home-grown produce.

  • There’s a patio area at the side of The Shippon. The playing fields next door have tennis courts, a football field and kids’ play area.

  • You’re welcome to use the games room in the wooden building too. There’s a pool table, dart board, and plenty of outdoor games for you to use.

  • Please bear in mind that the main garden is shared with The Rowe House.

  • We’re located in a dark sky park, so please keep lighting to a minimum outside at night. You’ll get a great view of the stars!
