History of The Rowe House

Also known as 'The Raw, The Rowe House was originally built around 1780 for a local landowner in Arncliffe. It was later used as a shooting lodge before being converted to a B&B in 1974.

Many original features have been retained and restored, including the Ingleton Granite fireplace, a servants bell, the tall arched window on the staircase. The Shippon - our self-contained annex across the garden from the main house, was originally a small stable, store room, and included a 3 seater privvy which we've donated to The Folly Museum in Settle.

There are lots of pictures and history books to peruse in the house too.
